Telephone: (+45) 4120 6494 – only during museum opening hours.
Accessibility
Wheelchair and rollator users, as well as persons with reduced mobility, may find it difficult to get around and see the entire museum. The building consists of several smaller rooms – some with steps between them – and the floor in the barn is uneven. You have to cross a lawn to enter the museum itself.
There are a couple of stools in the museum vestibule that can be taken along, and if you use a rollator, you are of course welcome to bring it with you.
Unfortunately, wheelchair users only have access to the barn. Please let us know at the ticket office, and we will open the gate for direct access so that you can see the whale skeleton and the special exhibition, “Strandings and Shipwrecks around Rømø”.
Companions have free admission to the museum upon presentation of a companion card. The companion card must be shown at the ticket office upon arrival at the museum.
Service dogs are allowed. Other dogs are only allowed in the outdoor areas - i.e. not inside the museum itself or inside the café.
Prams and pushchairs are only allowed in the barn and not in the other rooms. This is to protect the listed building and its artefacts. In case of rain, it is possible to leave the pram/pushchair in the small hallway by the ticket office.
Asthma/allergies: On a few occasions, asthmatics have found that the climate in the historic building has been challenging.
Toilets are located in the main building by the ticket office/café.
Clothing: The farm is not heated, so please remember to bring warm clothing in early spring and late autumn.
